Dark Light

Both the Anamorphotrope and VR-Otoscope where displayed at the Expo connected to the doctoral defence held at C-Mine on 26/09/2024.

The Anamorphotrope bridges digital and analog domains by transforming animations into 3D-printed objects. This installation consists of two layers of animation: the abstract forms of the 3D-printed structures that cast shadows, and the non-abstract animated shadows, which reveal figurative or narrative imagery through precise optical distortions. This interplay highlights the tension between the physical and digital, creating a unique experience of animated storytelling. Both installations push the boundaries of XR technology, reimagining the potential of animation and immersive art.

The VR-Otoscope is an experimental work that investigates the creation of animation within virtual reality. Participants are immersed in a dome-like environment where they are surrounded by their own animations, which are generated live during the experience. This installation explores the relationship between personal gestures, virtual creation, and spatial immersion, offering a deeply interactive and sensory engagement.
